The Ogle family was the very first settlers in Gatlinburg and their partner is a lifelong friend and handpicked family. Our staff are not just co-workers to each other but we consider each other our Smokies family. Every guest that walks in our front door is also a member of our extended family. The goal when creating The Appy Lodge was to provide Gatlinburg guests with accommodations that were far more than just another hotel. Our Location, The Best of Both Worlds!
If you’re having a hard time deciding on if you want to stay in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, then our hotel is the spot for you! We are located next to the Gatlinburg Spur making access to both towns convenient. You can use the trolley stop in our parking area to explore and you’ll also be given a free downtown parking pass upon request for the time of your stay as well. You can also take the Dudley Creek Road exit from our parking lot to avoid downtown traffic when you’re heading to great spots in the Smokies like Greenbrier, Cosby or the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Community. That same exit is a great way to make a safe and easy left turn at the red light to go into the downtown area! Take a right on the Parkway and you’ll be in Pigeon Forge within minutes where you can enjoy family-friendly attractions like The Track, Dollywood, Pigeon Forge Snow, Wonderworks and more! You’ll also find Anakeesta, the SkyBridge, Ober Gatlinburg and Ripley’s Aquarium within just a 5 minute drive from our hotel. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Sugarlands Visitors Center are just 10 minutes down the road! Our hotel may not be in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg, but we are in the heart of all things fun in the Smokies and that’s an excellent perk for families visiting the area!
