July 14, 2022

Every vacation should include stunning views of the Smoky Mountains, barbecue, Beaver Tails, a walk among the butterflies, a zipline trip through the tree canopy, and a friendly game of cornhole. Where can you find a place with all of that and more? At Anakeesta in Gatlinburg! The entry to this “magical theme park in the mountains” is located in downtown Gatlinburg, but the fun awaits at the top of Anakeesta Mountain in the Smokies. We’ve put together 7 tips for visiting Anakeesta, as well as a few exciting plans that they have for this year!

1. Buy your tickets online.

If you arrive at the entrance for Anakeesta and the ticket line is long, you’ll see the short line that welcomes online vouchers and wish that you had purchased yours beforehand. However, keep in mind that pre-purchased tickets are non-refundable. Tickets are good for one calendar year from the date of purchase, but no refunds are available.

2. Make the most of your 1-day ticket.

Tickets include unlimited all day access. If you’re staying with us, you’ll be just minutes away from Anakeesta in Gatlinburg. Visit early and enjoy the activities, head back to the hotel for a midday rest, and then take another ride back to the top for dinner, and spend the evening at one of the best spots in town for watching the sunset!

3. Chairlift or Ridge Rambler

Decide how you want to get to the top of Anakeesta before you get there. You can ride the chair lift to the top of the mountain, but there are only a few enclosed gondolas that would allow you to take a wheelchair or stroller to the top. It may be better for you to ride a Ridge Rambler and take the scenic route to the Anakeesta villages!

4. Check the Weather

The weather in the Smokies can be very unpredictable but the staff at Anakeesta monitor the weather closely. In the event that they feel the situation may be unsafe for guests, they will suspend operations. Be sure to check the forecast on the day of your visit to the park.

5. Make Ziplining Reservations

Ziplining through the canopy of beautiful trees at Anakeesta is one of their most popular activities. Reservations for the breathtakingly stunning and heart racing experience are not required, but they are recommended. You can check availability by calling 865-325-2400 EXT 310.

6. Experience Anakeesta in Gatlinburg on a Budget

It is true that once at the top, some activities will cost an extra fee. However, there are also plenty of ways to enjoy your time without spending more than you can afford or want to spend. Take a walk along the Canopy Walk, take advantage of the free crafts for kids, play one of the outdoor games that are available, soak up the views from the swings and rockers, let the kiddos play in the Treehouse Village Playground, fill up your camera or phone with family photos, and read over the plaques for the Memorial Forest Walk.

7. Know Before You Go
